It is hard to believe that Journey Through Bethlehem is just a few short weeks away!  It feels like only yesterday that Pastor stood before us on Vision Night in January and announced this special “Outside These Walls” event.
Our number one goal for Journey Through Bethlehem is to see those who come onto our campus receive the gift of eternal life in Jesus Christ!  We also desire for our community to sense and know the true love of Christ through the wonderful people of Calvary Baptist Church.
If you are like me, talking to someone that you completely do not know is sometimes awkward and uneasy.  However, God desires that we reach everyone with the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
Here are just a few practical ways you can personally invite someone to Journey Through Bethlehemon December 15-17.

1. Pay for the person behind you in the drive-through line and ask the drive-through
employee to hand them an invite card, (and then give one to the drive-through employee! J)
2. Go through your neighborhood and deliver cookies or a Christmas snack with an invite card attached.
3. Find someone at work and take them a cup of coffee, pay for their lunch, or take them   their favorite snack. Then give them an invite card.
4. Put out invite cards at an approved area at your work place, business, or restaurant.
5. “Share” the Journey Through Bethlehem event on all your social media outlets --
Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.
6. Whether you’re out shopping, gassing up your car, eating at a restaurant, or grabbing some coffee, odds are, you’ll interact with someone whom you could invite. Take a quick moment and give them an invite card.
7. Text, call, or email all your friends and family members that live close by and invite them.

Pastor Broyhill often says, “It takes team work to make the dream work.” The Journey Through Bethlehem will only be successful if we work as a team. Let’s do all we can during these next weeks to reach souls for Jesus Christ!

Will you do your part by going Outside These Walls?

Brother Thomas Delp
John 3:30

During March each year we emphasize Calvary Christian School in some very special ways at Calvary Baptist Church. In keeping with that emphasis, in a couple of blogs this month I would like to share with you a few words about Christian education.
The first word is TRUTH! The apostle John said, “ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”. (Jn 8:32)
In the church we work hard to lay a solid foundation of TRUTH in the hearts of children & teens because TRUTH does some AMAZING things for them. For example:
  • TRUTH has the power to give children ETERNAL LIFE! Truth is so powerful that it actually means the difference between HEAVEN and HELL!
  • TRUTH has the power to set children FREE! Truth is so powerful that it can set them FREE from Satan’s domination and from their own sinful flesh!
But what about school? Consider this - if a child is taught the TRUTH for 17,640 hours in school from kindergarten thru 12th grade, that TRUTH can save him from the eternal bondage of hell and from all kinds of bondage in this life.
But, what do you suppose happens when a child receives those same number of hours of instruction teaching him that God’s truth is a LIE and man’s ways, apart from God, are truth?
God gives this clear command: “Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge.” (Pro. 19:27) God commands us to STOP exposing ourselves to instruction that has the power to cause us to reject truth and embrace error. But children can only obey this command if their parents choose a school that teaches the truth and shields them from error.
If year after year parents allow humanism to be planted in the minds of their children, it should come as no surprise when their adult children “do that which is right in their own eyes”. God is right! We really do reap what we sow! (Gal. 6:7)
Christian school children learn the truth in every subject every day, and they learn to identify and reject error.
Moms and dads of Calvary, please ask God for wisdom regarding school for next year. Ask God to give you courage, conviction, and the willingness to make the necessary sacrifices so that your child can be in a school that teaches the TRUTH. Please protect your children from an education that can cause your children to reject the truth.
Special Offer: Any church family new to CCS can register during March for next year and receive an entire month of free tuition for each child (K4-12th grade).

If you have any questions about Calvary Christian School please visit the school display in the church foyer (pick up a free info packet), or call the school office at 336-983-3743 and ask to speak to Mr. Main.

This Wednesday, we will be taking up our Others' Offering. Every year we are privileged to be able to receive this offering and help those in our church family who have a need. With this offering we are able to help widows, single mothers, and other families in our church who have a need during the Christmas season. We do this for several reasons.

     1.  We Care About One Another

Acts 2:44-45 says, "And all that believed were together, and had all things common; And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need."

Here we find an infant church and many young believers. As we examine the passage, we find that even though many of these believers were new Christians, they had a special bond with one another. In fact, their bond was so strong that they sold their own possessions and gave to others in need.

     2.  Because We Care, We Act

In James 2, believers are challenged to show their faith through their works!

"If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone."

Because we are concerned about one another, we help. In other words, we back up our concerns with our actions. Please pray about what God would have you give to be a blessing to others in our Calvary family.

It’s that time of the year again! It seems like 2015 just started and we are already celebrating Christmas! During the month of December, busy roads around shopping centers often feel like parking lots, parking lots like war zones, and checkout lines stretch at least three times their normal length.

As we go through this holiday season and talk about love, hope, peace, and joy, it often feels like we are completely missing the point. Have we forgotten that Jesus is the reason for the season?

So often, we spend this season making our lists and checking them twice making sure we have gifts for family members, friends, co-workers, and others. Our time is occupied running from store to store making sure to locate that perfect item for the person who already has everything.

Christmas isn't about the gifts that we give and receive, but about the Gift that God gave the world. Join us at Calvary on Sunday mornings at 10:30am throughout the month of December as we take time to slow down and focus on the Gift of Christmas, our Lord Jesus Christ!

Our children’s Christmas play, “Candy Cane Christmas”, will be Wednesday, December 16th at 7:00pm, and our adult Christmas Musical, “The Gift Of Christmas”, will be on Sunday, December 20th at 10:30am and 6:00pm.

Calvary Baptist Church is located at 536 S Main St in King. Feel free to visit our website at cbcking.org, or call us at 336.983.3728.

Tonight, it was very exciting to see our teens go into the Winston-Salem Rescue Mission and really make a difference! As soon as we arrived, they jumped right into action! Our girls began pouring drinks and getting desserts ready as our guys went out and made sure the men in the mission had everything they needed. The residents then went through the lines and were served a great meal by our teens.

After the meal, our youth choir sang several songs before the preaching in services on two parts of the campus. At the end of the night a man came forward and accepted Christ as his Savior!

William Booth said, "You cannot warm the hearts of people with God's love if they have an empty stomach..." If our teens had not lovingly served a meal and joyfully sang in the choir, this man may have never heard the Gospel and accepted Christ as his Savior!

Parents, as hard as it may be to believe at times, your teen can make a difference! That son who won't make his bed or daughter who never seems to put her cell phone down is quickly reaching adulthood and can serve God in a great way. It is important to cultivate a passion to make a difference within their heart.

Our goal, as a church, is to assist you in training your teen to Honor God, Build Lives, and Reach Others! Tonight, I believe our teens did just that!

Our Go Missions Revival is coming up very soon! As you pray for the services, ask God to work in your heart.

· Personal Time With Missionaries

As you listen to the field challenges of each missionary family, you will begin the see their heart and burden for the field God has called them to. They care about the people and their souls.

As the week progresses and you are able to spend personal time with each missionary family, you will see the love for their call in life. When you ask questions at their table, you will see the light in their eyes as they joyfully give the answer. The amazing truth about each family is the fact that they are just like you. They are everyday people who have answered God’s call to go!

· Your Family Will Be Spiritually Impacted

Children and teens alike can have a heart for world evangelism. As your child or teen sits in the service, you never know how God may work in their hearts. You may be raising a future missionary! Children will walk through with their passports and meet missionary families and only heaven knows the impact that meeting one missionary, watching one video, or listening to one message on missions will have on their heart.

As your child or teen sees you interact with missionaries, listens to you pray for a missionary family, or watches you sacrificially give so missionaries can go, their life can be impacted. When you place a proper prospective on world evangelism, they will too. There is no better way to give them this direction than being in your place during each service of Missions Revival.

· A Renewed Burden For Souls
It is rare to watch a good missionary presentation without being stirred. You will see the faces, hear the statistics, and possibly even listen to the testimonies of people from around the world. Every Christian who views the need of the Gospel should feel a responsibility to deliver this truth to every man, woman, boy, and girl who has never heard the truth of God’s glorious love, and the sacrificial death of His Son to pay their sin debt.

With this responsibility, we must realize that it is our job to reach souls with this good news. While every person may not be called to go to the other side of the globe, it is our responsibility to reach those across the street and around the world!

· The Fruit of Your Missions Giving Will Be Seen

You may have given to missions for forty years, or you may hear about supporting missionaries for the first time at this missions revival, but one thing every one will be able to do is see missions dollars at work.

Countless Christians sacrificially give of their hard-earned money to spread the Gospel. Many times, unless you are in regular contact with a missionary, you may never hear of the souls saved or the churches planted with the money that God allowed you to give.

The Missions Revival will allow you to see, first hand, the fruit of your efforts in allowing the gospel to go!

· Your Heart Will Be Opened To God’s Will

After you have heard the preaching, watched the missionary videos, heard the field challenges, and spent personal time with the missionaries, there is no doubt that your heart will be stirred. You will be spiritually challenged as you come each night.

As God challenges your heart, are you open to His will for your life? Will you be involved in God’s plan for world evangelism? God’s plan is not for everyone to move to another place and plant a church, but it is His will for every Christian to be involved in world evangelism. Would you leave your heart open to God’s will in your life?

· Your Faith Will Be Stretched Through Your Faith Promise Giving

As has already been mentioned, God’s will is not for every Christian to pack all of their belongings, move to another part of the world, and plant a church, but the command to go still exists. If He has not called you to go, His plan is for you to give.

There is no greater investment than the investment you will make in spreading the Gospel around the world! There is no earthly way to know how many souls are saved or lives are impacted because of the sacrifice you make to give. Even now, you can begin to pray about what God would have you to give so the Gospel can go!
